Shipping & Postal Information
All shipping & packaging expenses are charged at cost. However, our minimum charge is $5.00 (inclusive GST) since very small orders often take up more resources than the profit gained from selling the product. Remember, the majority of the cost is the actual postage and packaging material charged by Australia Post.
We do get some comments regarding this from customers that place small orders and have looked hard at it. We justify this by noting that other bead shops have minimum orders, such as $25 or add a separate processing fee. Of course some customers would not be happy with that either and we left the choice open to either increase the purchase, thereby reducing the oveall postal expense, or by paying the fee.
We have also been asked to put parts into plain envelops. However, from experience we know the the sorting machines often catch onto the parts since they are not flat like paper and rip the envelop open. All you will get then is a empty ripped envelop from Australia Post!
All shipping options can be selected during the check out process. We do not add or estimate the cost of freight during the check out process, so you will not be billed until we have manually calculated the correct freight cost based on the destination, your requested method of delivery, as well as the weight and size of your parcel.
Conditions of shipping using Australia Post
Please note that in January 2011 we had to change our policy regarding lost parcels due to a change in claims policy by Australia Post. In the past Australia Post would allow claims of up to $50 for uninsured parcels based on the Invoice accompanying the parcel. However, the claim is now based on our cost price, rather than the sales price, and requires extensive proof in regards to this. Note also that if goods are purchased to a specific amount you would only be able to claim a portion of this amount, not the full amount.
Since this is now a time consuming and expensive proposition, we will no longer file claims for customers for uninsured parcels. It is your responsibility for requesting and purchasing additional insurance, where possible. Should an insured parcel be lost, we will process such a claim for you.

Australia Post International Air Mail
Australia Post delivers to most countries only by airmail, especially all Asian countries. Postal delivery time is approximately 5 to 10 business days, depending on destination. Not Insured
Insured Air Mail (recommended)
Postal delivery time is approximately 5 to 10 business days, depending on destination. Signature required. Insurance cover varies between countries.
Please keep in mind that any Customs fees or taxes imposed by Customs for an order are separate from the shipping charges, and are not the responsibility of Benjamin's Crafts. Customs fees and taxes will vary, and we recommend that you contact your local Customs office should you have any questions or concerns about these fees. All packages shipped from Benjamin's Crafts will include a declaration indicating the contents as 'Craft Supplies', with full value for the order listed. A package returned to us due to refusal of these charges will result in Benjamin's Crafts being charged for the shipping, return shipping and Customs fees, and future orders will not be accepted until these fees are reimbursed. We are unable to alter our declaration. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Please note that we will only be able to help track / reimburse parcels that are insured.
We highly recommend insurance for international orders. Insurance cost an additional $9.50 for the first $100.00 insured and $3.60 for every additional $100.00 up to $5000.00. When you purchase insurance, you'll receive :
coverage against loss, theft or damage of your international mail
proof of posting
a signature on delivery
Insurance for international orders are only available for certain countries.
When to expect your order
At Benjamin's Crafts, we make every effort to process (pack and ship) your bead order as quickly as possible and in most instances we will post your goods on the same day (if the order is placed before 11am Perth time).
Goods paid by direct deposit will not be posted until your payment can be identified with your reference number in our account, which may take 2-3 working days after you have made the deposit. We will have your goods ready for mailing before you have made the payment, so no further delays are to be expected.
As we have no control over your orders once we post them, the best way to resolve late/missing parcels is to contact Australia Post directly. If you have selected either Australia Post Registered or Express, please follow the following steps:
1) Ring Australia post at 13 13 18.
2) Inform them that you would like to track your Registered/Express Post Parcel.
3) Quote them your reference number which was send to you via email to you when your order was posted
They will track down your parcel and inform you of its location. If you experience further difficulties after proceeding with the steps above, please contact us and we will try to help you resolve the matter. Unfortunately for Australia Post Regular, there is no way of tracking your order. Your only option is to lodge a complaint with Australia Post.
