Wherever the item has a single hole, application is normally made by bringing the thread up through the hole, adding a small seed bead and feeding the thread straight back through the hole. The seed bead acts as a stopper this way and the thread does not have to be brought across the surface of the bead. Note that unless otherwise indicated all items are foiled. Foiling refers to the application of a finish that acts as a mirror. This application also stops the colour of the material from showing through the bead, which would otherwise influence the colour and brightness of the bead. Unfoiled articles are often used in jewellery, rather than clothing fashion since the application of a foil would be noticeable and unsightly. However, clear coloured articles are at times used on white material such as wedding dresses as well.
